Our Objectives: • To maintain a steady supply of blood and blood components: Blood has a short shelf life, so there's a constant need for donations to meet patient requirements. • To educate about the importance of blood donation while highlighting the life-saving potential of blood donation is essential. • To instill the Rover Scout’s spirit: SERVICE. Benefits for Recipient and Donor: • Blood transfusions are critical for various medical procedures, surgeries, and treatments for accidents, illnesses, and childbirth complications. • Blood donations help patients survive and recover from medical conditions. • Before donation, blood pressure and iron levels are checked, offering a basic health screening. • Blood donation tests screen for infectious diseases like hepatitis and HIV, potentially leading to early detection and treatment. • Regular blood donation can be helpful for people with hemochromatosis (excessive iron absorption). • Helping others can reduce stress, boost self-esteem, and create a sense of purpose. • This service supports the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3): Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
